PTL autumn talk in Schwarzach: 300 kilometres as a team
Tom Wagner and I will share our PTL 2024 experience at the 13th Schwarzach autumn talk on 7 November 2025.
On Friday, 7 November at 7:30 pm, Tom Wagner and I will speak at the 13th Schwarzach autumn talk in the Haus der Vereine. Our subject: the PTL 2024 — 300 kilometres, 25,000 metres of elevation, nonstop, and second place as a team.
What is the PTL?
The Petite Trotte à Léon is the longest and toughest event of UTMB week in Chamonix. Its name suggests a little outing, but it has grown into one of the hardest challenges around Mont Blanc.
Teams of two or three runners tackle approximately 300 kilometres and 25,000 metres of climbing, with a 150-hour time limit. The clock keeps running throughout.
Our second place in 2024 was the result of months of preparation, teamwork and mental strength. We want to share what that experience actually felt like.
What we will talk about
- How do you prepare for 300 kilometres in the mountains?
- How does teamwork hold up over 110 hours?
- What happens in the lowest moments — and what helps you through them?
- Why choose a challenge this extreme in the first place?

More than a running story
These experiences reach beyond sport. Making decisions under pressure, working together when everyone is tired, and continuing when motivation has disappeared are challenges people also face in everyday life and business.
At the PTL, teamwork is present in every step. You discover how far your feet can carry you — and what becomes possible when you face your limits together.
Tom and I look forward to sharing our story and the lessons we brought home. See you on 7 November!
